5. Withdrawal from socializing
A person with Alzheimer’s may start to remove themselves from hobbies, social activities, work projects or sports. They may become withdrawn and not talk to others, or not pay attention when others are speaking to them.

6. Changes in personality or mood
Everyone becomes sad or moody from time to time. A person with dementia may become unusually emotional and experience rapid mood swings for no apparent reason. They can become confused, suspicious or withdrawn. Some can become disinhibited or more outgoing.
7. Difficulty finding the right words
Occasionally everyone has trouble finding the right word sometimes, but a person with Alzheimer’s may forget simple words or substitute inappropriate words, making sentences difficult to understand. They may forget what they are saying or what somebody else has said. It can be difficult to enter a conversation.
