8. You experience digestive problems
Bathroom breaks normally shouldn’t take too long. However, your digestive system might be screaming for help if you’re not drinking enough water.
Water promotes good digestion and regular bowel movements by keeping your stool soft and moving it easily through the digestive tract.
Without adequate fluids, digestion can slow down causing constipation, gas and bloating, or even the passing of seemingly undigested food. If your bowel movements are irregular and infrequent, try drinking more water to loosen your stools and relieve constipation and bloating.
9. You have bad breath
One of the most common symptoms of dehydration manifests in the mouth. When dehydrated, the decreased saliva in the mouth allows bacteria to thrive, resulting in bad breath. Drinking water lubricates the mucus membranes in your mouth and throat, which will continue to keep your mouth moist with saliva long after that first sip.
If you recognise any of these signs, we recommend you go and drink a glass of H2O straight away.
